the area of a rectangle is 100 square inches. the perimeter of a rectangle is 40 inches.a second rectangle has the same area but a different perimeter.is the second rectangle a square? explain why or why not

no... even if the area is the same, perimeter can always change! If the perimeter is 40 inches and the area is 100, the area could stay the same in another shape... but the perimeter may change

the area can be the same while the peimiter can change aera=legnth tiems width 100=legnth times width the dimeitons could be 1 by 100 2 by 50 4 by 25 5 by 20 10 by 10 they have perimiters of 202 104 58 50 20 respectively so it could be a square or not
